this project was born when rustic furniture company Groovystuff entered a partnership agreement with Dick Idol Brands. They approached us with a challenge: To define the future of their new home furnishing collection combining Western Cottage and Rustic-Modern aesthetics.
Groovystuff recently extended their capabilities by partnering with a flooring company that produces sustainably milled teak wood. This allowed us to achieve a modern look while also using repurposed materials.
On it's backrest, the Entwine Chair showcases a unique Thai fence post that has been beautifully aged in it’s environment.The surface quality of the newly milled teak beautifully contrasts with the rustic look of the fence post. To tie it all in, the seating area is a hand woven leather.
Below are additional scaled mockups for other concepts in the collection. The captain's chair above however, was ultimately chosen by the client.
