The Brisa 360 Fan was inspired by my home, in Puerto Rico. With an average of 4 fans per household, the basic fan is essential for every room, especially for families that cannot afford paying for air conditioning expenses.
There are many other countries near the equator that depend on the household fan. Yet, the basic, most popular fan design has hardly changed in many years.

I constructed a final working model of my concept with an oscillating motor so the blades actually turned.

By performing a quick sequence of use I was able to identify problems with the basic fan.
- Tips over easily
- Hard to clean
- Bulky Design/Large footprint
- Intricate cage collects dust

The color study for this project is inspired by the Puerto Rican culture which is immensely vibrant and colorful. The people are not shy to portray bold colors in their personal style and in their homes.
